Fernie - January 2007

Some piccies & a movie from Fernie (Canada)

Fernie is in British Columbia's Rockies. Fernie Alpine Resort (the base of the ski area) is a couple of miles along Elk Valley from Fernie town. We stayed in Fernie & used the old school buses to transfer to & from the ski area each day. They were every half hour & uncannily punctual. One morning when four of us couldn't fit on the bus, the driver rang for a complimentary taxi to come & pick us up!

Fernie is well known for its legendary powder, Stew couldn't wait to sample it, he'd even been dreaming about it (weirdo). When we arrived we found it hadn't snowed for a few weeks, as a result the off-piste was skied out & rock solid. .....Needless to say, he was rather disappointed :-(

We got an amazing deal, it only cost us £315 each!! Not bad for a weeks skiing in Canada.

Warning - one picture shows Stew getting attacked by a bear. If you're squeamish, it's probably best you don't scroll down!!!
