Panorama - February 2010

Some piccies & a movie from Panorama Mountain Village (Canada)

Me, Stew, John & Jon went to Panorama for 10 nights, we stayed at the slope side hotel Pine Inn. On our last night we watched the Winter Olympics opening ceremony live from Vancouver on a large screen they'd set up in the great hall.

It hadn't snowed for over two weeks before we arrived, so there was no sign of any fresh stuff. The days were a mixture of sunny & overcast. A couple of days the cloud was really low, but as you went up the 3rd lift to the summit you broke through into brilliant sunshine :-)

Panorama is in British Columbia's Rockies. It's a purpose built resort, a few miles up the road from the lake-side town of Invermere. It's not very well known to the Brits, I think the long transfer from Calgary puts them off. The village is quite quiet too, not much nightlife at all. But the ski area is fairly large with something for everyone & it has one of the biggest verticals in North America.
